Our little ray of Tropfest
19 February 2008
SHE might be only 10 but speaking in front of 50,000 people is apparently a walk in the park for Narrabeen's Jahla Bryant.
On Sunday night Jahla (pictured) scored the best female actor award at Sony Tropfest in the Domain for her role in the competition's winning film Marry Me.
``It was an amazing night,'' she said. ``I can't explain the feeling. It was incredible.''
Michelle Lehman, of Leichhardt, directed the winning short. Tropfest is the world's largest short film competition and on Sunday 16 finalist films were shown to judges.
Jahla's $3000 first prize was donated by Nicole Kidman and presented by actress Claudia Karvan.
